Nationality Irish
Additional Peter Lydon swapped the south side of the River Thames for the north when he joined Ealing Trailfinders for the start of the 2017-18 season from London Scottish. Lydon played for the Exiles for three seasons after joining from French club Stade Francais before the 2014-15 season. The 24-year-old can play either fly-half or fullback, though he has played predominantly in the number 15 jersey. He also possesses a powerful left boot, which has contributed most to the 642 points he has scored in 74 appearances for Scottish so far, including 23 in the Exiles 28-12 win over Ealing Trailfinders in December. In 2015-16 Lydon pulled the strings as Scottish won 37-17 at Vallis Way and scored three conversions and two penalties. When Ealing Trailfinders won 28-26 at the Athletic Ground on Boxing Day he added another two conversions and a penalty to his points total. At the season’s end he was rewarded for his performances by being named London Scottish Player of the Season. Lydon hails from Kilkenny, but was born in the Netherlands’ capital, The Hague. He began playing rugby aged four for Kilkenny RFC. Later on he played in the Irish League for Seaport where he caught the eye of Stade Francais. He only played for one season in the French capital and featured mainly in the European Challenge Cup, but he trained alongside French international Jules Plisson and South Africa fly-half Morne Steyn.
