||Arthur Ellis added a further five tries and 23 appearances to his Ealing Trailfinders total in 2016-17. He appeared in 22 matches as Ealing Trailfinders returned to the Greene King IPA Championship and British and Irish Cup and finished with six tries. He enjoyed a stellar first season at Vallis Way as a regular starter as Ealing Trailfinders won the 2014-15 National 1 title. Ellis was voted Players’ Player and Coaches’ Player of the Year following a season in which he was second highest try-scorer with 29 tries. Ellis hails from the Ealing area, attended St Benedict’s School and he joined from the Ospreys in 2014. He previously played for London Wasps, London Scottish and Chinnor before crossing the Severn Bridge to study at Cardiff University and play for Bridgend Ravens and Newport before moving to the Ospreys. At 5’9” Ellis is a flanker in the Neil Back mould, quick to the breakdown where he is able to use his abrasiveness and strength to win plenty of turnover ball. He has also age-grade played county cricket for Middlesex and is the younger brother of Rosslyn Park number 8 Hugo Ellis.
