Sam Olver to join from Worcester Warriors
Ealing Trailfinders are delighted to announce the signing of Sam Olver from Worcester Warriors on a two-year deal.
The fly-half is an exciting arrival to Vallis Way, and has an impressive rugby CV which will increase the anticipation for the 2018/19 season.
The 23-year-old has made 14 appearances for the Warriors this season, scoring over 60 points in his debut campaign at Sixways.
He joined Worcester last summer from Northampton Saints, where he earned a professional contract at Franklin's Gardens in March 2013 and helped Northampton Wanderers to three Aviva A League finals in four seasons, whilst also making 14 first-team appearances.
His debut came in the East Midlands Derby in the fiercely contested rivalry against Leicester Tigers.
On the international stage, he has represented England at Under 18 level, and also made four appearances for the Under 20s in the 2014 Six Nations, before helping them win the Junior World Championship later that year.
Olver also has impressive rugby pedigree as his father John earned four England caps in the early 1990s during his rugby career.
Director of Rugby Ben Ward says this signing is a real statement of intent.
“Sam is a fantastic player who we are very excited to have in our squad. To be at the age of just 23 and to have that amount of experience behind him shows the quality he has and I have no doubt that he will be a key figure for us moving forward.”
Olver is looking forward to a new challenge at Vallis Way.
“I’m really pleased to be joining a very ambitious club with an exciting future and hope to play a big part in that moving forward.”
