Sam Dickinson signs for Ealing Trailfinders
Ealing Trailfinders can today confirm the signing of Sam Dickinson on a long-term deal.
The back-rower joins from Northampton Saints where he featured on 89 occasions for the Franklin’s Gardens outfit, and will bring huge experience to Vallis Way.
The 33-year-old can play in both the second-row and back-row which adds further depth to the squad, and he will be available for selection immediately for the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign.
The 6ft 4” man began his career at hometown club Caldy before moving to Rotherham Titans, where he played over 60 times in the Championship.
He then signed for the Saints where he spent five years, and was a regular in their match day squad as well as captaining their Wanderers to the A League Premiership Title.
In 2013 Dickinson was called up to the England Saxons squad, where he featured on two occasions to represent his country.
Director of Rugby Ben Ward says this signing shows a statement of intent from the club.
“We are delighted to bring Sam in and a player of his calibre will add huge experience to our group. As a club we are always looking to improve and we are confident that Sam will be an excellent addition to the squad moving forward.”
Dickinson is looking forward to a new chapter with the Trailfinders:
“It’s a great set up here and the team are doing well so I’m excited to be a part of it. There’s a great vibe around the place and it’s a new challenge for me, I’m hoping to bring some experience to the group.”
