Ollie Stedman signs for Ealing Trailfinders
Ealing Trailfinders are pleased to announce that Ollie Stedman has joined the club on a long-term deal.
The number eight has signed from Yorkshire Carnegie immediately and will begin training at Vallis Way this week at his new club.
Stedman has an impressive rugby CV after graduating from the academy at Headingley and has played 80 matches of Championship Rugby, scoring 29 tries adding significant experience to the pack.
The back-rower represented England at Under 20 level, and featured in the same group as the likes of current full internationals George Ford, Elliot Daly and Mako Vunipola.
The 26-year-old moved from Carnegie to Newcastle Falcons in 2012 before heading to London Welsh, where he helped the Exiles gain promotion to the Aviva Premiership.
From there he moved to Castle Park to feature for Doncaster Knights and was crucial in their charge up the table, however he then returned to Carnegie where he has been for the last 18 months.
Director of Rugby Ben Ward is pleased to add further depth to the back-row department:
“Ollie is a big strong ball carrier and will add some real power to the pack as we enter the business end of the season. This is a long term deal as we feel Ollie is the right player to help us progress as we continue to build for the future.”
Stedman is looking forward to a new challenge at Vallis Way: “I’m very pleased to have joined the Trailfinders and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
He added: “I’m looking to play as much rugby as possible as we continue to push Bristol at the top end of the Championship.”
