Murphy and Clegg return for Trailfinders ahead of Doncaster clash

Ealing Trailfinders have named their team to take on Doncaster Knights tomorrow afternoon, with six changes to the starting line-up as they look to get back to winning ways in the Greene King IPA Championship.

Ben Ward’s side suffered their second defeat of the season at Nottingham last time out, and all be aiming for a positive response when the Knights visit Vallis Way.

Four of the changes come in the back-line with two alterations up front. Kieran Murphy and Rory Clegg both make their first starts of the season after returning from injury and will give the squad a significant boost.

Will Davis returns to the front-row alongside Alun Walker and Mark Tampin, with Barney Maddison and Harry Casson in the second-row. Kieran Murphy starts at blindside flanker, with Rayn Smid and Mark Bright completing a dynamic back-row.

Scrum-half Luke Carter is joined by Rory Clegg in the number 10 shirt. Joe Munro retains his place at inside centre, but a change at outside centre sees Lewis Jones start in the midfield.

James Cordy Redden comes in on the left wing, with Will Harries on the right wing and Luke Daniels at full-back.

Matt Cornish, James Gibbons and Lewis Thiede provide a front-row alternative on the bench, with Llewelyn Jones covering the rest of the pack.

Grayson Hart, Lewis Robling and Piers O’Conor give plenty of cover to the back-line and will all be looking to make an impact when called upon.

Director of Rugby Ben Ward is looking for an improved performance from his players:

“Doncaster are a well-coached team and they’ll be looking to take our scalp but we need to bounce back and must be better than last week.”
