George Edgson to swap Bedford Blues for Ealing Trailfinders

Ealing Trailfinders can today announce the exciting signing of George Edgson from Bedford Blues.

The young hooker has had a highly impressive season at Goldington Road and will now head to Vallis Way for the 2018/19 campaign.

The 22-year-old joined Bedford from Wasps after coming through the academy with the Aviva Premiership side.

He has featured for the Blues on 24 occasions over the last two seasons scoring six tries, and has also played for Rotherham and Blackheath during his development.

Edgson was part of the Wasps academy with the likes of Jack Willis and Piers O’Conor, and will be looking to use all of that experience as he heads to West London.

The former England Under 18s representative is renowned in the Championship for his explosive ball carrying and will add further competition for the number two shirt alongside the likes of Alun Walker and Matt Cornish.

Edgson is pleased to be heading to Vallis Way for the next chapter in his career:

“I’m extremely excited to be joining Ealing Trailfinders next season and I’m really looking forward to being part of such an ambitious team. The direction the club is going in is something I want to be part of and I can’t wait to get started.”

Director of Rugby Ben Ward says the hooker will be a great addition to the squad.

“George is an exciting player who has been one of the standout performers in the Championship so we’re very pleased that he will be joining us.

His ball-carrying will be a big plus for the team and as we continue to build I’m sure he will be an important player for us moving forward.”
