Ealing Trailfinders partner with Sports in Schools Ltd to begin brand new Community Programme

Ealing Trailfinders are delighted to announce a new Community Rugby Department which will deliver a wide range of sports projects and supply quality sports coaching to schools and organisations in the local area.

The club recognise the importance of community engagement and would like to build stronger links with schools and businesses alike.

The department - which will be headed by a newly appointed Head of Community - has been established following close work between Ealing Trailfinders Director of Rugby Ben Ward and Sports in Schools Ltd.

Sports In Schools specialise in the formation and operating of community departments for sporting clubs and businesses. They currently successfully manage community departments at Coventry Rugby, Bedford Blues, Birmingham Moseley, Fylde Rugby and neighbours Richmond Rugby Football Club.

With over 250 schools and organisations across the Ealing borough, there is a fantastic opportunity to build stronger links within the community, deliver high quality sports provision and provide sustained support to the next generation of rugby players who could one day pull on an Ealing Trailfinders jersey. It also provides the main body of the club with a sustainable income to support further projects.

Speaking about the appointment, Ealing Trailfinders DOR Ben Ward said: “This is a very exciting development for our club and one that we are extremely happy to work with Sports In Schools on. Ealing Trailfinders is a huge part of the community already, but we have so much more to offer schools, clubs and organisations, and this appointment will allow us to become far more involved with the local area and beyond.”

Ward continued: “We want to make a positive impact on the lives of youngsters across West London as well as provide school holiday camps and match day experiences. We are also focusing on quality coaching being delivered to schools with long term relationships between the two being harboured.”

“All of this will help Ealing Trailfinders become more engaged with the local community while also galvanising youngsters to become more involved with the sport that we all love and in turn our club.”

Matt Price, Managing Director of Sports In Schools Ltd added: “A community department is now a major part of a rugby clubs operational activity and with Ealing Trailfinders currently sitting second in the Championship, the timing could not be any better. The aim is to build strong links within the community and provide quality coaching to the schools around us and beyond.”

“We want a greater engagement with people within the area and with over 80,000 people living in Ealing, it’s important we get to showcase the club in its entirety. At Sports In Schools, we have a proven track record of being able to engage and provide valuable revenue streams to the club to be invested back in to the community. All in all it is very exciting for everyone involved.”

Matt added: “If you would like to know more about what exactly Ealing Trailfinders Community Department can offer you, your school or organisation, please email community@etprm.com for further information.”

To apply for the Head of Community position, please send your CV along with a covering letter to community@etprm.com by 5pm on Friday 2nd March 2018 with interviews being held week commencing 5th March 2018.
